Rebuild the Cartilage

Cartilage is the connective tissue in your body that keeps joint motion fluid by coating the surfaces of the bones in joints and by cushioning bones against impact. If there is a breakdown, luckily there are some foods that can help you.

Oranges –
Collagen, a protein that your body needs vitamin C to make, is one of the primary components of cartilage. Oranges are an obvious choice in terms of getting vitamin C!

Pomegranates –
Pomegranate fruit is known as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Current research shows pomegranates help your body produce essential substances that protect cartilage

Nuts –
Nuts are excellent deposits of magnesium. Magnesium allows your body to extract as much hyaluronic acid as possible from the food that you eat.

Green Tea –
Green tea is proven to help with osteoarthritis. It contains polyphenols and catechins that help restore and protect cartilage.

Brussel Sprouts –
Brussel sprouts contain lots of Vitamin K, magnesium, and calcium. All help in keeping your bones and joints in good health.

Legumes –
Legumes have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties have high levels of lysine. These are critical to cartilage regeneration.

Brown Rice –
Brown rice represents a great source of hyaluronic acid, making it an excellent food choice for protecting and rebuilding cartilage.

When used as part of a more comprehensive treatment plan, nutrition can be a great way to aid in rebuilding your cartilage.
